Catching up

A lot has happened for me in this last month, not all of it writing related or even career oriented. For the first time in a long time, I’m having the time of my life. Anyhoo, I didn’t know if you guys had noticed a couple things on the sidebar in the blog. First of all, I announced that the winner of the gift certificate is Kim W. I have announced this all over, but if you know Kim W, please ask her to shoot me an e-mail so I can get the certificate to her. If I don’t hear from her by Feb 28, I will have to redo the contest, since I deleted all the e-mail reminders to me of who posted. So don’t despair, you may yet win the prize. If I have to hold the contest again, I will up the prize to a $25. gift certificate.

Also, I’ve begun posting a writing quote of the day and I think I will have an inspirational quote of the week (or day, not sure yet). We’ll have to see how much work that turns out to be.

Kim Robinson, author of the Roux in my Gumbo, will be our Vibrant Voice on Monday. Please check back then to hear what she has to say.

Now I’m off to the salon. Time, tide and gray hairs wait for no woman. Have a beautiful, blessed day.

All the best,
Dee

You made a fool of me testo love and basketball

Do you know what that means? Neither do I, but according to my website statistics it’s a search string more than one person used to happen upon my site. My favorite from last month–bugs on chairs. Mind you, I don’t remember discussing bugs on or off chairs, except one entry on my website blog about a grasshopper that got into my office and I know I’ve never mentioned basketball, so what gives? And what the hell is a testo?

I tried googling my name to see if any reference to this showed up in reverse. I made an awesome discovery. There is actually another Deirdre Savoy! She seems to be some sort of graphics specialist working in the medical field. Unlike me, she seems to have married into the name (yes, folks, my parents did this to me on purpose).

Needless to say, I still don’t know what a testo is, but if you’re looking for my website, it’s listed over to the right along with other fun facts about me. I’ll be revamping my site shortly, so stay tuned for updates. I’ll also be putting out a new newsletter, as well.

On that note, I’ll leave you with a sincere wish for a Happy Monday. Me? I still need another cup of coffee.

Can somebody tell me . . .

How to resize the book jackets so that the whole thing is shown? I clicked the box for shrink to fit, but it looks more like a strip got torn off of them. Do I need to have a smaller file size to start with? Halp!!

Just when I thought it was safe to post again . . .

Hey folks,

Just when I thought I’d be able to keep one of my new year’s resolutions . . . my phone line and therefore my computer line goes down–right in the middle of the street. LOL Verizon finally sent out a crew so I’m back in business. Thanks for your patience, those of you who read this blog.

Get into your most comfortable reading chair, take off your shoes, turn off the phone and let Ms. Savoy's incredible talent take you away. --Debra Ross, Romance in Color

A skewed sense of humor has kept me sane through 10+ years of teaching and almost as many writing. I invite you to come in and look around. Leave a comment if you like. My goal is to leave you with a smile on your face and a few new thoughts to mull over. If you like the blog, please tell your friends. If not, tell your enemies.
