I think that's why it took me some twenty-odd years to actually finish my first book. I had so many stops and starts while I taught myself how to write. Then I wrote the sequel as my second manuscript. The problem was I didn't know what I was doing, so even though I loved the story they had to go under the mattress! My husband has suggested that I go back and rewrite them, but that's just too much work. I'd rather write something new from scratch. I believe my first manuscript was the book of my heart.
