Hello Out there

Ye gods and little fishes, as my grandmother would say. I can’t believe this is my first post for June of this year. I went from being totally prolific on this blog to being drip-dropific. Shame, shame. Part of it is coping with the after effects of giving up smoking. After being smoke free for a little more than three months I am freaking falling apart. Or I was. I had that Respiratory Infection that Wouldn’t Die for a while. But now even that is gone. I just feel wrung out. I guess it’s time now for Dee Dee to gain some more strength.

Anyhoo, I’m back. Anybody got anything interesting they want to talk about? If so, give me a buzz.

Glad you’re feeling better. That respiratory thing turned into pneumonia for my sons (luckily all at the same time) so it could have been worse.

Nothing in particular to talk about although I’d bet you have something interesting to say about this whole Paris Hilton fiasco.

    Hey Patricia,

Thanks for your kind words. I’m glad your sons are feeling better as well.

I haven’t wanted to start on Paris, but if I must . . . Stay tuned.

    All the best,
    Dee

How’d you stop smoking? My husband is on medication that has had him cut down, but I’d like to see him stop.

    Hey Bettye,

It took several factors to finally get me to quit:

    1. my kids begging me to
    2. my sincere desire to stop
    3. reiki healing energy, which I gave to myself and got from other practitioners. It’s a great way to relax and destress, as well as a complement to general healing. You can find out more at my other website http://www.healinghandsofreiki.com or e-mail me and I’ll tell ya more.

Oddly enough, I had tried to quit through hypnotism a few years back. It worked for a couple weeks but then I went back to smoking. But this time around, when I tried to do some yogic breathing exercises to try to calm cravings I would find myself recalling that hypnotic state from years ago and the cravings would disappear.

Definitely weird! I hope you do get your husband to quit. After being sick for a good three weeks I finally feel better than I have in YEARS!

    All the best,
    Dee
