As a romance writer I’m a believer in true love. As a woman I’ve been a wife for nineteen years–almost. Tomorrow is my anniversary. To mark the day I’m sending you a few thoughts on love and marriage–sorta. All quotes come from A Curmudgeon’s Garden of Love by Jon Winokur.
Love is the affectation of a mind that has nothing better to engage it. Theophrastus
When you’re in love, it’s the most glorious 2 1/2 days of your life. Richard Lewis
The Book of Life begins with a man and a woman in a garden. It ends with Revelations. Oscar Wilde
If love is the answer, could you rephrase the question? Lily Tomlin
A loving wife will do anything for her husband except stop criticizing him and trying to improve him. J.B. Priestly
The tragedy is when you’ve got sex in the head instead of down where it belongs. D.H. Lawrence
Give me chastity, but not yet. St. Augustine
What is most beautiful in virile men is something feminine; what is most beautiful in feminine women is something masculine. Susan Sontag
Take it from me, marriage isn’t a word, it’s a sentence. King Vidor
By all means marry. If you get a good wife, you’ll be happy. If you get a bad one you’ll become a philosopher. Socrates
When you consider what a chance women have to poison their husbands, it’s a wonder more of it isn’t done. Kin Hubbard
The only way a woman can ever reform her husband is by boring him so completely that he loses all possible interest in life. Oscar Wilde

Ah well. Give your significant other a big hug from me.
By the way this is my 200th post. Another reason to celebrate. Enjoy the long weekend!

Happy, Happy Anniversary, Dee! I wish you many more anniversaries with special memories.
The photo above with the sailor and woman kissing is one of my favorites.
I also love the quotes you’ve posted.
Happy 200th post, too.
Keep blogging,
Paz
P.S. Can you tell us how you celebrated your 19th wedding anniversary? Or am i being too nosey?
Hey Paz,
Thanks so much, sweetie. Glad you enjoyed the photo and the quotes. I can’t believe I’ve talked so much in only a few months (only 30 posts came before January of this year).
My old hubby and I spent the day in bed. Don’t get excited. We’re both sick with some sort of infection that reminds me of The Stand. lol So we’ll be celebrating our big day next weekend. And no, I’m not tellin’ ya nothin’. LOL Take care.
All the best,
Dee
Happy Anniversary Dee!
Hi again:
It’s good you have lots to tell us.
So sorry to read that you and hubby were under the weather but, the weekend is around the corner and you’re now feeling better, thankfully! Yeah! Happy celebration!
Best,
Paz
