It’s been 22 days now without my stogies. I can’t believe that. When I started this, I didn’t think I’d last twenty two hours much less the same number of days. Nobody pinch me, cause this is one dream I’d like to sleep in for.
There is one thing I was naive about, however. I remember thinking that if I did (or didn’t) do a thing for 21 days, it became a habit. Who was it who told me that nonsense? I still have some mighty powerful cravings–none I intend to give in to–especially since my daughter had a nightmare last night that I’d gone back to smoking. She better love me when I’m old, I’ll tell you that much.
Anyhoo, off to more non-smoking and getting ready for RSJ!
All the best,
Dee

Woot! Woot! That’s awesome. I’ve hung in there on the sugar and booze, but I did have a bite of strawberry shortcake last night. You’ll be the most pampered old lady ever! Just think you’ll be around long enough for your daughter to turn into your mother. If that doesn’t drive you to smoke nothing will! -lol-
That’s something to be proud of! Quitting smoking is so tough to do.
Breaking the habit of anything that has a physiological consquence is difficult. Smoking, I’m told, is one of the hardest. Sugar ain’t easy either.
I heard that 21 day mess many years ago and fell for it too. My experience says it takes that long for the seedling of change to take root but much longer for it to manifest.
What a wonderful accomplishment! You can rightly be proud of yourself.
Good thing you started this before you went to the Slam Jam. You don’t want to be like my husband, standing outside the hotel door at 3 in the morning because he woke up and had to have a cigarette in a hotel where smoking is strictly prohibited (with a sign posted saying that there will be a $200 room cleaning fee imposed for violators!) More and more places are outlawing this practice, including car rental companies.
I pick up my husband’s stop smoking medication tonight. Wish him luck!
Congrats honey! I knew you could stick it out. Keep it up!
