Captain, there be (were-) whales here!

I was over at Mrs. Giggles this morning where she was discussing the proliferation of various were-creatures in paranormal romance. Me personally, I don’t see what’s so fascinating about men that turn into beasties in more than a metaphoric sense. Although a black panther man, hmm, that would be my exception. I’ve had a thing for anthropomorphized felines since the first time I saw Jungle Book, Disney style. Granted, Sebastian Cabot’s voicing talents, while impressive, didn’t jibe with the Bagheera in my head. That cat had a deeper, sexier voice, a growl maybe and a swagger to his four-footed gait.

Hmmmm. Exhale. Anyway, I’m working on this paranormal thingie type idea. Mr. Were-panther might get in there somehow.

So what about you? What’s your were-poison?

I don’t get the animal thing at all. But then, I’m such a traditionalist when it comes to romance. If I did one, it would definitely be a feline. I think a were-cougar would be sexy. But I doubt it will ever happen. I’m such a slow writer that by the time I get one written the fad will be well over. I am so looking forward to my little guy starting pre-school this fall. Finally, I’ll have time to write!

I loved Vegas Bites, but before that, I couldn’t see my hero turning into some four legged creature. But L.A. Banks made me rethink that. LOL.

I’m actually into vampires. I have a partial plot in my head. maybe I’ll write it up.

Roz, don’t worry about fads. Write what comes to you.

    Peace
